The Phlox team provides architectural and interior design services for a wide range of projects like Single and Multi-family Residential Buildings, Commercial Buildings as well as Mixed-use Commercial/Residential Buildings, Religious Buildings, Adult Day Care Centers and many more. Our work focuses primarily on the Baltimore-DC metro area; however, we have the capabilities to operate across Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
We are deeply committed to revitalizing and rejuvenating the cities in which we work; one building at a time. This commitment is highlighted by our adaptive reuse projects. Together with our clients in Baltimore City, we have converted numerous boarded-up buildings into mix-use Commercial and Residential buildings.
As a woman and black owned design firm, we work to make our services accessible to the underserved community of minority developers, contractors, homeowners, and churches who have traditionally had trouble affording the services of licensed architects and other design professionals.

Uzo, the owner and Principal of the firm is an experienced design, project management and construction administration professional with over 30 years of experience in the U.S and Nigeria. She has worked on a wide variety of building types, including university research labs, office buildings, K-12 schools, community centers, health care centers, maintenance facilities, commercial buildings, and single and multi-family residential buildings.
Uzo is a Maryland Licensed Architect who collaborates effectively with teams of architects and other design professionals to provide a full range of design services in Washington DC, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
In addition to her professional work, Uzo mentors black female architectural students and young architecture graduates.
Ken Amanze
Founder and Principal, Muvag Inc.
The Phlox Team collaborates with Muvag Inc. on projects where there specialized knowledge would benefit our clients, and on large projects to provide timely project delivery.. Muvag Inc. is an Architectural design, project management and real estate development consulting firm. The company offers a variety of built environment related services including feasibility analysis, Architectural Design Services, Real Estate Development structuring, targeted and value added project management, post construction services and property condition assessment. Their architectural design services experience spans different building types, and include but is not limited to residential, religious, commercial, institutional, civic, hospitality, and cultural buildings
Kenneth Amanze is the principal and Project Manager for Muvag Inc. He has over 35 years of experience in Architectural design, project management and real estate development consulting. Ken is licensed to practice architecture in both Maryland and DC.
